to develop skills of unskilled, semi-skilled persons, dropouts from schools
and colleges, and also the weaker section of the society through
industrial training and framework of necessary standard curriculum with
quality assurance so that they may come up with high performance.

to focus on underprivileged specially weaker sections of society along
with persons of all ages residing in the backward regions of the eastern
India so that they may be provided with affordable vocational education
through sound business and management practices. In this way they
may be able to earn their livelihood and move towards poverty
alleviation.

The Vijayam Educational Trust is a non profitable and
registered charitable Educational trust, which was
set up to empower the youth with job oriented skill
sets and at same time help the nascent industry
overcome challenges of its human resource. Today,
over the years, it has grown to be a leading talent
development organization of Bihar, to offer a host of
learning solutions to individuals, enterprises and
institutions all over the state through its various
initiatives focused covering a large mass.
The training solutions imparted by the Trust in
Executive Management Education, IT, Business Process Outsourcing, Banking, Finance
and Insurance, Communication and Professional Life Skills, have changed the lives of
more than 30,000 people in the last decade.
The aim of the Trust is to lay stress upon underprivileged sections of society and
backward regions of the country for the sake of poverty alleviation, and similarly to
facilitate skill development of the unorganized or informal sector workforce. Major part
of its efforts is directed towards skill development programmes in the unorganized
sectors. Over and above, it also aims to play key role, particularly in sectors, where the
growth / progress is ineffective or is missing.
After thorough research, surveys and understanding of the skill gaps that exist in the
rural & urban workforce, the Trust has devised some unique models to provide
education and training to the rural & urban youths so as to make them worthy of
employment and to enable them to have job opportunities in various industries, in and
around the state. The thrust is also on underserved, school-going children and illiterate
adults. It has taken a lot of social and educational initiatives which have been very
fruitful.
The 'Vijayam Educational Trust' has expertise in strategic consulting, learning design,
customized content, training delivery, hi-end technology training, testing &
assessment. It enables people to get trained effectively and efficiently. It facilitates to
make learning environment that meets the requirements of existing and emerging skills
and trends in the industry.
The key driving force at 'Vijayam Educational Trust', is research-based innovation which
has enabled the organization to develop programs and curriculum that use cutting-edge
instructional design methodologies and training delivery. It has provided computer-
based education to over 30,000 people including drop outs of schools and colleges,
non–skilled, semi-skilled, fresher and uneducated young adults.
In addition to above, it caters to the increasing demand of the skilled

The Vijayam Educational Trust's training solutions in Executive Management
Education, IT, Business Process Outsourcing, Banking, Finance and Insurance and
Communication and Professional Life Skills, have changed the lives of more than

It was observed that there are various industries and segments which have their own

At present all the division are working efficiently under the management of 'Vijayam
Educational Trust' and constantly moving ahead to accomplished the mission of the
trust.
Divisions
The journey of the prestigious institute was flagged off in the year 2001, with
the establishment of 'The Career Catalyst' with the objective to make the youth
employable.
The Career Catalyst started functioning on school finish concept. In this wake it
launched training programs as per the need of the industry.
First of all, it achieved the objective of understanding the need of the industry.
This was the time when Bihar was planning to take a giant leap towards
industrial development. Industries were keenly looking at this state as a place
full of opportunities. Telecom Industry was going through a revolutionary phase
in Bihar. Along with BSNL, Reliance, Tata and Bharti-Airtel were also planning for
their expansion. And with their entry in Bihar, definitely new opportunities were
perceptible on the horizon. So, the first step was to understand this opportunity
and be ready accordingly to forge ahead.

Need Analysis i.e. knowing the requirement of the industry:-
Our first step
was to gather information about the requirement of the industries. For this, a team
of experienced people was formed. In this team, there were people, who had
worked in the similar kinds of organizations in Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore or in other
metro cities. They had the same or relevant experience of the industry and at the
same time better understanding too. The objective of the team was to know and
explore the requirement of different segments of the industry, their job profile and
also about the specific skill set required to get the job.
•
Mobilization of the Job Seekers:-
Once the job profile is known, next comes the
second step, that is ' mobilization of the Job seeker'. It is achieved by organizing
Career Awareness Seminars & Camps in different localities. We also make people
aware of the available opportunities through announcement in newspapers. As a
result of all these efforts, a large number of people get themselves registered for
further processing.

After successful completion of 'Mobilizing the job

If found satisfactory, the final interview of
the candidate is conducted with the
representatives of the company and,
thereafter, after successful completion
of the final round, the job is offered to
him.
However, if during the process of
screening, the candidate is found to be
lagging behind the criteria of selection,
their skills are needed to be developed
or further upgraded, they are apprised
of this and then some practical tailor-
made solutions are suggested.
1.Up–skilling the un-skilled & semi-skilled persons:
Different people have
different problems and hence different solutions are required.. Based on this fact,
our 'Skill Development Team' has developed the educational content to meet the
demand of the employer, keeping in view the background of the candidate.
Accordingly, it has developed many programs to enhance and develop the required
skill sets. Each program was meant to focus on some specific problem areas or skill
of the candidate in order to upgrade his skill and expertise to meet or beat the
parameter set by the employer. As per assessment of the experts, these skill
development training programmes were offered to the students.
•
Training & Assessment:
The training programme of minimum one month to six
months is offered to the candidates. The object of the training is to develop required
skills in them, hence a lot of emphasis is given on the practical aspect of the
training. In fact, students are trained by following 'Learning by Doing' concept.
During the training period, the progress of the candidates is assessed on regular
basis and, accordingly, they are apprised of the progress.
•
Internship Programmes:
To have the proper and practical knowledge of the
work, the participants are sent several times for internship. This helps them
understand the work and work culture. Also they are apprised to have better
understanding of –'What they are expected to do', how they are supposed to do'
and 'what are the skills required to do the work'. As a result, they become more
sincere and conversant of the training.
•
Personality Development Programmes
: To develop the personality of the
candidate, he needs to go through special
Personality Development Programmes,
which help in developing his personality
and make him a better candidate for the
job.
•
Interview Handling Practice:
To face
the interview skillfully, the students are
specially taught about the Interview
Handling Skills so that he may face the
interview boldly and skillfully and have fair
chance of selection for the job.
•
Certification:
After successful
completion of the training, certificates are
awarded to the students.
•
Placement:
After successful
completion of the training,
candidate's interview with the
employers is conducted, and then
job is offered to him. In case, the
candidate doesn't succeed in
getting the job offer, he is re-
trained keeping his performance
and weak points in view. He is given
chance once again to face the
interview.
This was the time, when the idea of a
'Finishing School' struck the mind. It
was felt that:

Lot of un-skilled, semi–skilled, un-
educated and even educated
people are unemployed.
•
Every year the number is
increasing rapidly with the new
pass out students and with the new grown ups emerging in the society and so the
competition gets tougher and tougher.

A study was conducted and it was observed that if not in Bihar, at least job
opportunities are available in metro cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and
Bangalore.
•
Lot of MNCs/ big & small corporate houses have large vacancy. But the people
looking for the job, are not skilled. They lacked the relevant knowledge and
smartness.
•
Very soon it was established that there is a big demand of “Employable Workforce”
but there was a big gap between demand and supply.
•
To meet this challenge and overcome the problem, the idea of establishing such an
institute came, which was to fill the gap between the demand and supply and aimed
at converting the unskilled one into skilled one. It was to work as a catalyst to fulfill
the need of job seeker and job provider – hence it was named as – 'The Career
Catalyst'.

Later on the success of The Career Catalyst opened many doors and ways to help
the different segments of society. As the time passed by, the new opportunities
were seen and tapped by taking initiatives and finding innovative solutions for
them.
The aims and the objectives of the Career Catalyst are as follows:

Career Catalyst, the flagship company of the Vijayam Educational Trust, was
formed. It trains the people for the industry / employer according to their need. So
far more than 30,000 people from Bihar and nearby states have been placed.

The Vijayam Techno Campus, which is a part of
the 'Vijayam Educational Trust has set a new
milestone in the segments of Customer Service
Training, Placement and Call Center industry in
Bihar. The Vijayam Techno Campus, has played
a key role in the field of Call Center and BPO
Industry in the state. It has been pioneer in
providing training and placement services also
for the Customer Care Service Division.

outsourcing the requirements for the companies in
eastern India.
The revolutionary development in the field of
Telecommunication services has brought lot of job
opportunities. This was the time when big
telecommunication companies had started their
ventures in Bihar. The Vijayam Techno Campus, being a
part of the 'Vijayam Educational Trust' and the 'Catalyst
Group of Institutions' was ready to fulfill the growing
need of this industry in Bihar.
The need further emerged in the division of
customer service, back office job, data entry,
documents verification and others. All of these required trained and skilled manpower.
We, at Vijayam Techno Campus' had all expertise in developing skill, grooming the
people and placing them and so it was a natural
choice for us.
No wonder, when Bharti-Airtel launched its
services in Bihar, 'Vijayam Techno Campus' got the
opportunity to run its customer service divisions
and execute lot of its back-office jobs. Taking
initiative, we established the first outsourced call
centre unit of private sector in Patna for Bharti Tele
ventures. It was meant to serve the consumers of
Bihar / Jharkhand Circle. This Outbound Call
Centre for Bharti Tele-ventures (Airtel) in Patna
was started in January 2005 and is running
successfully since then.

'Vijayam Techno Campus' initiated
the call centre industry in Bihar with
the establishment of Outbound Call
Centre of Bharti Tele-ventures
(Airtel) in Patna. For this purpose an
international standard call center was
set up on our premises for this
purpose. A team of professionals with
relevant experience with industry
leaders managed the call center.
It was started in January 2005 for
serving the consumers of Bihar /
Jharkhand Circle. We showed a
remarkable performance with
regards to telemarketing, retention,
up selling and cross selling and
revival of the customers. It covered a
wide range of customer service
division and offered with satisfactory
solutions.
Along with Customer Service
Division, there were many other back
office jobs too, like digitalization of
the form of customers, checking and
verification of the forms etc. To meet
this goal, a separate data entry
division was formed, where the work
of digitalization of prepaid enrolment
form was performed. This division,
with an efficient team members, had the
capacity of computerizing more than
6000 forms everyday.
Another milestone achieved in the same
field was that, we, for the first time in the
history of Bihar, established a Call Centre
of International Level in our premises. It
was established for Reliance
Communication Ltd. It dealt with the
customers of Bihar and Jharkhand and
had a work-force of more than 400
people. More than 8000 calls were made
every day from this call center. It was
inaugurate by Hon'ble Dy. CM of
Bihar,Mr. Sushil Kumar Modi.

the business of outsourced customer care,
Training and Placements since over a
decade. It has been serving different kinds of
sectors including financial, hospitality,
pharma and Cellular companies. Among its
clients, are HDFC Standard Life, Bharti Tele
Ventures, Cipla, IBM-Daksh, Wipro BPO and
Indusind Bank and many more.
The Vijayam Techno Campus has been
involved in multiple activities related to BPO
and ITES segments. It dealt with Data Entry,
Validation, Inbound Customer Services,
Outbound Telemarketing, Education,
Manpower consultancy, Direct Marketing,
Market Survey Work and Events.
It is the biggest manpower placement
consultancy in Bihar. We have placed a huge
number of candidates in the call centers of
companies like GENPACT(GE), WIPRO BPO,
IBM-Daksh, Idea cellular, Hutchison Essar,
Indusind Bank, HDFC standard life etc.

properly for himself/herself, so as to be

However, the present education system
puts emphasis on rote-learning and
unhealthy competition. It has also been
observed that the out-dated content taught
in the course is also not so helpful to the students. There exists a disparity between the
present market demands and the skills of the educated youth.
We know that, at present, the industry is suffering from lack of skilled man power in
proportionate to the jobs existing in the market. This mismatch occurs due to many
reasons such as poor link between traditional institutions offering vocational courses
and the private sectors. Students often find it difficult to secure proper employment
immediately after completing their courses. In view of all these factors, to overcome
this problem efficiently and effectively, we, at the Vijayam Educational Trust, have set-
up links with several companies and corporate houses so that the students trained by
us can be employed soon after completion of their studies/training.
Growing ahead with the vision of Skill Development, the Vijayam Educational Trust, has
adopted an innovative step. In order to equip its students with required and relevant
skills, it has added some Add-on courses with each course. As a result of that, the
products of CIMAGE are not only entitled to get University Certification and they also
get ready to serve Industry. In this way they are geared up and ready to meet the

established by the Vijayam Educational Trust in 2008,

CIMAGE Public Library
CIMAGE's well-equipped library is a store-
house of knowledge and is an asset of the
college, students and the neighborhood.
It was inaugurated by the Hon'ble. Dy. Chief
Minister of Bihar, Mr. Sushil Kumar Modi,
accompanied by the Hon'ble. Education
Minister of Bihar, Mr. P.K.Shahi. Since its very
inception, due to its collection and variety of
books, it was very popular among the
students of the college. Looking at its
usefulness, it was soon made open for Public.
Hence CIMAGE Library was renamed as
'CIMAGE Public Library'. The Hon. Ex-
Pres
ident of India, Bharat Ratan, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul
Kalam, also visited this library and
appreciated the efforts of the management of
the CIMAGE College and Vijayam Educational
Trust.
CIMAGE Public Library is a place where not
only books but also magazines, periodicals,
newspapers and journals are also well-
stocked for the benefit of the readers. Beside
these, one can also get the entire series of
Atlas, Encyclopaedia, etc. to know even the
minute detail of a thing.
CIMAGE Public Library is housed in a very spacious hall. It has thousands of books in
stock, covering the areas of management, IT, media, philosophy, history, literature, art
and culture, technology, science, fiction and a
lot more. It has books on various topics,
subjects and events. All the books are kept
systematically catalogued and are classified
and indexed according to their subjects.
However 'New Arrival Desk' always helps the
book lover to find the new books or
collections, which keep on coming to keep the
library always updated.
The membership of the library is available at a
very nominal subscription of Rs.100/month.

Media College provides a laboratory
setting with educational environment to
encourage innovations which can be
applied to news organizations. It has all
the requisite hardware and modern
software tools for TV, radio, print and on-
line/multi-media publishing. Recording
and editing workstations utilize iMac
machines and state-of-the-art software
tools for mixing sound and editing for TV,
radio and on-line/multi-media. Television
studio and its anchor station are well
equipped with high resolution video
cameras. Students learn to use software
programs and study the kinds of
production work being done by television
channels, radio stations, newspapers,
magazines and web publications.
While the focus is always on Quality Journalism, the Center familiarizes the student
with the use of technology of computers, video cameras, sound recording, multi-
media, interactivity, video and audio editing. Needless to say, Catalyst Media College
works in close association with the professional and trade organizations to identify
industry's best-practices.
We have put a lot of emphasis on practical training in addition to salient theoretical
aspects of the course. This is accomplished by collecting news items at least twice in
every month in and around the college or in the adjacent areas including rural
surroundings of Patna, using advanced media equipment, working with sophisticated
editing software for text, image, sound and video, for release in newspapers,
magazines, as well as covering in TV and radio as on-line/multi-media news
presentations. All these are carried out under the guidance of veteran journalist
faculties who are complemented by guest lecturers from the media industry. Further,

The history of freedom struggle of our country has been a
very long story. It is full of sacrifices, dedication and
devotion. There are a large number of people who have
contributed to freedom movement and in making India what
it is today.
There are some people, who live in their dreams and take all
efforts to make it happen. One of them is 'Sri Shankarlal
Agarwal', from Warsaliganj- Nawada. This worthy son from
the soil of this small village of Bihar saw a dream of
'Independent India' and left no stone unturned to teach
lesion to British Government. By following the path of non –
violence, shown by Mahatma Gandhi, he strained his every
nerve to unite people against the English rule and forced them out of our country.
He had a dream of making education available to all. He wanted every Indian to be
literate. He was a great supporter of female education and believed in harmony among
the people. He had a vision to enrich people with education and knowledge.
To pay the humble tribute to this visionary man, Vijayam Educational Trust opened a
new college on his name – 'Swatantrata Senani Shankarlal Agrawal Takniki evm
Prabandhan Mahavidyalay'. Today it has become a 'Dream College' for knowledge
seeker.

'Vijayam Evening College'
The founder members of the 'Vijayam Educational Trust' saw a dream of making
educational facilities available to all. Besides being educators, through extension
activities of the college, the founder members became aware of the large number of
young people who could not afford to take up full time education due to reasons of
timing, poverty, deprivation and other responsibilities.
While 'Vijayam Educational Trust' catered to the needs of a large section of the public by
its several wings, it also showed concern about those not able to pursue studies and
were excluded from higher education. Being alive towards this need of the society, they
kept their concerns in mind, and in 2011, the Trust started an evening section of the
college to “Include the Excluded” as the first step. In view of the rush of students in the
evening section, the management decided to establish an evening college at the heart
of capital Patna and named it Vijayam Evening College'.
Our vocational training courses are industry-oriented and skill-based. That is why we
have become the most preferred vocational training College. Like each of 'Vijayam
Educational Trust's vocational training centers, it also has state-of-the-art facilities

To have better and practical understanding of the subject, the students undergo
rigorous internship programmes, provided by us. Such internship programmes, help
the students a lot in gaining practical understanding of the subject and at the same
time help them directly in their placements. It has been observed several times that
even during the internship, students are offered with a job. We have a lot of instances of
success stories of such students, who were offered job by the same organizations,
where they did their internship. Further, many of our part time faculty members and
guest lecturers are posted in senior positions in big organizations who on going through
the performance of the students and looking at their satisfactory progress offer jobs to
them directly in their organization.
Normally, placement is done after going through several phases, step-by-step, in a
very systemic order. It starts with exploring employers, then knowing the vacancy and
exploring the job profile. Then the focus is made on searching suitable candidates and
line them up for the recruiters. However, to increase the possibilities of selection, the
candidates are provided with some 'Brush-up Sessions' – keeping the job profile in
mind. This helps in upgrading their skills. Further the process of lining up the employer
and candidates takes place and the job interview is conducted and thereafter, finally,
the placement is done.

Making people employable and earn their livelihood by
upgrading their skill, have been the goal of the 'Vijayam
Educational Trust'. Since its very inception, it is moving
ahead on the same path with rapid speed to achieve its result.
To achieve the above goal of the 'Vijayam Educational Trust,
'Skill Development Camps' and 'Workshop Training' have
been organized, which were big steps forward towards
providing the employment and livelihood to thousands of youth. We got the idea of
conducting Job Fair, which never took place earlier in the history of Bihar. For Bihar, it
was not only an innovative idea but challenging also at the same time as at needed good
network throughout the state, with efficient teamwork, excellent planning, and proper
coordination. As all such facilities were available with us, without further delay, we
executed the plan of organizing such job fair.
The job fair proved to be a wonderful step forward to bring the job aspirants and the
employer together on the common platform. It helped us in reaching the mass on a big
level. We had the credit of organizing the first job fair of this sort in the history of Bihar.
This Job Fair was a big success.
This job fair made us aware of the fact that there were many unemployed people who
seek job. But this was also a fact that many of them were not aware of the availability of
opportunities and so they were not prepared for that accordingly. There were another
lot of people who only had bookish knowledge but no skill, hence they were not able to
secure a job. In addition, there were some people who were up to the mark and would
have got the job with little efforts, but couldn't.
In future, keeping above in view these findings would further play a key role in serving
the needs of unemployed and unskilled persons by launching various job oriented skill
building programmes, which had created livelihood opportunities for thousands of
youth.
Moving ahead on the same path, the 'Vijayam Education Trust', organized 'Job Fair –
2012' in the CIMAGE College Campus. It invited candidates seeking job from all over the
state. It was an open job fair providing opportunity to educated, uneducated, skilled or
semi-skilled persons. In this job fair, more than 50 companies/firms took part who
offered job to more than 700 people.
The Job fair organized by us is an innovative initiative of
the 'Vijayam Educational Trust' where jobseekers meet,
interact and interview with several top employers under
one roof that serves dual advantage. The job fair has
received an over-whelming response from job aspirants
as well as the companies across the region. The job
aspirants walk-in to seek better paying job with the most
renowned companies participating at the job fair.

Fortunate are those who have knowledge. But unfortunate are
not those, who don't have it, rather those who have
knowledge but do not educate others'.
We, at the 'Vijayam Educational Trust', are committed to
spread the light of education to all till the last man standing in the queue is educated.
With the same vision, and to make our students aware of their social responsibilities, we
have formed some clubs in our colleges. These clubs are dedicated to do different kinds
of social activities in the society. Among these, there is a club, named 'Teach at Slum'.
The members of this clubs go to different slum areas. There they meet the people
especially poor parents, guide them and motivate them to send their children to get
education. 'Vijayam Educational Trust' provides all the infrastructural support for this
noble cause, including Class Room, Computer Lab, Library etc, along with study
materials, free of cost.
Classes are conducted by the students of the college and the students are taught
English, Hindi, Mathematics and Computer subjects. This is constant practice, which is

Our Success Stories
IIn the past one decade, we have written several success stories right from bringing
awareness among the people to skilling them, from publishing book to being a part of
book fair, from making the people job worthy to organize Job fairs. All these
achievements have infused great energy in us. Consequently, we are motivated to
move further to set a new goal, to meet the challenges, win over them
and thus write a new story again.
'Improve Your English & Get a Job'
The success of training thousands of youth motivated
us to write this book. This was the first book published
by us, which dealt with topics as per its title. This was
written keeping the practical situations and problems
of the unemployed youth in mind and dealt with
practical and easy solutions. It became one of the most
demanding books of that time. As a social initiative of
the 'Vijayam Educational Trust', and in order to make
majority benefitted of it, it was sold only for Rs.1/.
To provide the best educational content to the students
of Management, IT and Media Division, the 'Vijayam
Educational Trust' published several books – covering
the relevant topics. The specialties of these books are
that, these are written in simple language. Lot of
examples and case studies make the topic easier to
understand. Exercises given with each example make it
sure that the students have understood the topic.

have always been paying the highest significance to educational activities and have
been contributing significantly in each of these. One such big activity is participating in

in the Book Fairs being organized in Bihar, but also been
using this opportunity to reach the mass. Along with selling
